# Basement Programmer is back... Kind of

If you have been following my articles for a while, you will notice that the Basement Programmer blog has been shockingly quiet lately...

Many tech Blogs out there start with a bang, and then fizzle out, so you would be excused for assuming that I had grown bord of blogging and simply stopped This is not the case. Basement Programmer is alive and well.... sort of...

Let me explain...

I started Basement Programmer when I was working as a Developer Advocate for Amazon Web Services, and the content mostly focused on AWS Technologies, because... well that was my day job. I worked out of my basement, did all of my tech development out of my basement, my work gear was all in my basement... so I was Basement Programmer. And surprisingly enough [basementprogrammer.com](http://basementprogrammer.com) was available!

At the start of this year my family made the decision to migrate back to Australia. This was obviously a very busy time and I had no spare time to blog about anything, no time to create videos, not time for pretty much anything. Anyone who has ever tried to pack a family up, sell a house, relocate and find a new job all while holding down a full time job will understand.

In any event, it's nearly August, and I'm back... in more ways than one. Yes the Basement Programmer blog is bac AND.... I am back at AWS, this time working as a Sr. Delivery Consultant in Perth, Western Australia. I had previousely spent 16 years here in Perth where my wife is from and where my kids were born.

So... expect content to pick back up... In fact, I am working on a new blog post right away!

So why the "kind of" as far as being back... well... anyone who has visited Australia, especially Perth, knows... there are no basements.

I am getting ready to move into a new house in the coming months, and that house does have a nice room for a home office... but "Front of the house Programmer" doesn't really have the same ring to it... so everything is staying "Basement Programmer" :-)

Blogging to recommence soon.

The YouTube content will have to remain on hold as much of my equipment is still on a ship from the US and won't arrive for a few more months yet!
